The belt pack is a versatile piece of equipment that allows you to use a headset microphone for enhanced audio quality. This guide will walk you through the steps to properly set up and use the belt pack and headset microphone.

Accessing the Belt Pack

  • Locate the designated drawer where the belt pack is stored and open it.

Battery Installation

  • Take out the rechargeable batteries stored in the same drawer.
  • Insert the battery into the belt pack, ensuring that the text on the battery is readable. This confirms that the battery is placed correctly.
  • Close the battery compartment.

Powering On

  • Turn on the belt pack using the switch located at the top.
  • For the next steps, make sure to turn off the belt pack.

Steps to Attach the Headset

Locating the Headset

  • The headset is stored in a small case near the belt pack drawer.
  • Open the case and take out the headset.

Connecting the Headset

  • Locate the end of the headset that screws into the belt pack.
  • Align the two small knobs on the back of the headset connector with the corresponding slots on the belt pack.
  • Once aligned, the connector will click into place, allowing you to screw it in securely.

Final Steps

  • Turn the belt pack back on.
  • Place the headset over your ear to complete the setup.

Steps for Storing the Headset

Disconnecting the Headset

  • Unscrew the headset from the belt pack and remove it.

Wrapping Up the Headset

  • If there are any knots, untangle them first.
  • Neatly wrap the headset cable.

Storing the Headset

  • Place the wrapped headset back into its designated case.
  • Thread the small loop on the case through the headset cable for added security.
  • Zip up the case.

Powering Off

  • Make sure the belt pack is turned off.

Removing the Battery

  • Open the battery compartment and remove the battery.

Charging the Battery

  • Place the battery back in its charger, ensuring that the circle and tab on the battery are facing outward.
  • Press down on the battery to secure it in the charger.

Storing the Belt Pack

  • Place the belt pack back in its designated spot in the drawer.

How to Record Room Audio Using the Denon System

Initiating the Recording

  • Locate the Denon system and identify the "Record" button.
  • Press the "Record" button once; it will start blinking to indicate it's ready.
  • Press the "Record" button again to start the recording. The light will turn solid red, confirming that the recording has begun.

Monitoring the Recording

  • Keep an eye on the Denon system's display. It will show a timer, indicating the duration of the recording.

Stopping the Recording

  • To stop the recording, simply press the "Stop" button on the Denon system.

Saving and Scheduling

  • The recording will automatically be saved on the server.
  • For recurring meetings, they are usually pre-scheduled to be recorded. However, it's always good practice to double-check if you want your specific meeting to be recorded.

Handheld Microphone Operation Guide

Battery Installation

  1. Locate the Microphone: Find the handheld microphone stored in the designated area.
  2. Open the Battery Compartment: Unscrew the bottom part of the microphone to access the battery compartment.
  3. Remove Old Battery: If there's an old battery, remove it. The batteries are rechargeable and stored in a specific area.
  4. Insert New Battery:
  • Positive end should be on top.
  • Negative end should be on the bottom.
  1. Close the Compartment: Screw the bottom part back on.

Turning On and Off

  • To Turn On: Slide the switch to the right.
  • To Turn Off: Slide the switch back to its original position.

Battery Removal and Storage

  1. Open the Compartment: Unscrew and open the battery compartment.
  2. Remove the Battery: Take out the battery.
  3. Proper Orientation: When placing the microphone back, ensure the side with the circle and tab is facing the correct way.
  4. Close and Store: Close the compartment and store the microphone in its designated area.

Preparing the Sound System

  • Make sure the main sound system is turned on.
  • Ensure all faders on the soundboard are pulled down.

Locating the Belt Pack and Headset

  • Open the drawer located underneath the soundboard.
  • Find the belt pack and the headset, which is stored in a Countryman case.

Setting Up the Belt Pack

Inserting Batteries

  • Open the belt pack's battery compartment.
  • Insert two Procell batteries with the negatives facing left and positives facing right.
  • Turn on the belt pack briefly to ensure the batteries are correctly inserted, then turn it off.

Connecting the Headset

  • Take the headset out of its Countryman case.
  • Align the red dot and notches on the headset connector with the corresponding notches on the belt pack.
  • Screw the headset into the belt pack.

Testing the Belt Pack

Unmuting the Channel

  • Go to the soundboard and pull up the main volume fader, starting low.
  • Locate the fader labeled "Wireless Belt Pack."
  • Make sure the mute button is off (the light should be off).

Sound Check

  • Unmute the channel and pull up the fader.
  • Test the sound by saying "testing, testing, one, two, three."
  • Adjust the volume as needed, both on the main fader and the belt pack fader.

Steps for Using a Handheld Microphone

Powering Up the Sound System

  • Turn on the main sound system using the switch labeled "Main Sound System On and Off."
  • Make sure the switch is in the "On" position.

Locating the Microphone

  • Open the drawer near the soundboard.
  • You will find both handheld and wireless microphones; for this guide, we focus on the handheld microphone.

Setting Up the Microphone

Adding Batteries

  • Unscrew the handle of the microphone to access the battery compartment.
  • Use Procell AA batteries, as rechargeables are not yet available in The Shed.
  • Insert two batteries with the positive side facing up.
  • Close the battery compartment and screw the handle back on.

Checking Power

  • Use the small switch on the microphone to turn it on.
  • If it powers up, the batteries are correctly inserted.

Adjusting Sound Levels

Master Power Switches

  • Locate the master power switches labeled "Left" and "Right" on the soundboard.

Handheld Volume

  • Find the fader labeled "Wireless Handheld HH."
  • Pull it up slightly to start the sound; always start low.

Master Volume

  • Use the master volume controls to adjust the overall sound level.

Steps for Playing Music from Your Phone

Powering On the Sound System

  • Turn on the power for the sound system.
  • The control board will light up, indicating it's ready for use.

Locating the Connection

  • Find the connection labeled "Input C" near the soundboard.
  • This connection is wired in and locked down, so it's always available.

Getting the Adapter

  • Open the drawer near the soundboard and locate a small bag containing adapters.
  • Choose the appropriate adapter for your phone.

Connecting Your Phone

  • Plug the adapter into the "Input C" connection.
  • Connect your phone to the adapter.

Playing Music

Starting Playback

  • Press play on your phone to start the music.
  • You'll see a light on the control board at "Panel C," indicating music is playing.

  • You can adjust the volume on your phone.
  • Use the main volume controls on the soundboard for further adjustments.

Steps for Connecting a Computer to the Projector

Turning On the Projectors

  • Locate the panel near the soundboard labeled "Projector On/Off."
  • Press the "Display" button to turn on the projectors.

Setting Up the Sound System

  • Turn on the main power switch to boot up the sound system.
  • This is essential for projecting sound during your presentation.

Finding the Right Adapter

  • Open the drawer near the soundboard to find various adapters.
  • Choose the adapter that fits your computer, such as a USB-C for Mac or Windows machines.

Connecting the HDMI Cable

  • Locate the HDMI cable on the floor near the edge of the soundboard.
  • Connect the HDMI cable to your chosen adapter.
  • Plug the adapter into your computer.

Adjusting Audio Levels

Main Volumes

  • Locate the main volume controls on the soundboard.
  • Pull up the left and right volume controls.

Video Source Volumes

  • You'll see lights indicating the video source volume.
  • Slowly pull up these controls to adjust the audio levels.

Setting the Source

  • Make sure the source is set to "Link Panel HDMI."
  • If the screen is blank, check the source number and adjust it accordingly.

Steps for Shutdown

Organizing Adapters

  • Place all adapters back in their designated bags.
  • Store the bags in the appropriate drawer in the control booth.

Handling Used Batteries

  • If any batteries are dead, place them in the "Recycle Batteries" box.
  • The box is located to the right of the control board.

Powering Down the Projector

  • Turn off the projector display to allow it to power down.
  • This prevents unnecessary wear on the projector.

Preparing the Sound System

  • Turn on the sound system before proceeding.

Using the HDMI Cable

  • Utilize the long HDMI cable available at the control booth.
  • Take the cable up to the stage and plug it into the box located underneath the piano.

Alternative Connections

  • You can also use VGA or an audio cable to play content from devices like an iPod.

Changing the Input Source

  • Locate the Xtron system on the control board.
  • Choose the relevant input source, such as "Stage HDMI" or "Stage VGA."

Gathering Components

  • Open the drawer within the sound system to find the wireless microphone components.

  • Take two Procell AA batteries for the belt pack.

  • Open the battery compartment on the sides of the belt pack.
  • Insert both batteries facing the same direction, with the positive side to the right.
  • Close the compartment and turn on the belt pack to ensure it powers up.

Connecting the Headset to the Belt Pack

  • Locate the notches on the headset connector and the corresponding notches on the belt pack.
  • Align the notches and insert the headset connector into the belt pack.
  • Secure the connection by screwing down the connector.

Setting Up the Soundboard

  • Turn on the soundboard using the orange button.
  • Locate the fader labeled "Wireless Belt Pack" and pull up the volume.
  • Conduct a sound test by speaking into the microphone while observing the soundboard.

Adjusting Audio Levels

  • If the audio is too soft, increase the volume on the "Wireless Belt Pack" fader.
  • Also, adjust the master volume for overall sound level.
